Anand

My name is Anand and I am from India. I moved to the US in 1993 to pursue a Graduate Program at the University of Iowa, Iowa City.

My foray into Photography was due to my interest in Aviation. I have been attending air shows for the past 15 years and wanted to take pictures of military aircraft that are normally not accessible to the general population.

I started in 2000 with a Nikon N-80 Film SLR and a Nikkor 28-105mm lens. Consequently, I bought some expensive lenses and upgraded to the Nikon F-100 Film Camera in 2002. I would love to buy a Nikkor 300 f/4 or the Nikon 80-400 mm VR lens for shooting at airshows.

For Nature and Macro pictures, I tend to use the Nikkor 105mm Macro lens with a 4T closeup filter.

I finally made a move to shooting digital by buying a Nikon D-200 DSLR in 2006. I moved to Baltimore, MD in August 2006 and I have been unable to shoot much due to my commitments to school and work.

    My kit:

Nikon D-200 with the MB-200 battery back
